Outstanding Performance and Stopping Power
The Magtech 357 Magnum 158 Grain SJHP is specifically designed for shooters who demand high terminal performance. The semi-jacketed hollow point (SJHP) bullet expands upon impact, creating a larger wound cavity for greater stopping power. This makes it an ideal choice for self-defense situations where you need a round that can neutralize a threat quickly and efficiently.
The 158-grain bullet strikes the perfect balance between speed and energy transfer, offering a flatter trajectory while still packing enough punch to penetrate deeply. The controlled expansion provided by the SJHP design ensures that the bullet will mushroom upon impact, increasing the likelihood of incapacitating the target without excessive penetration.
Precision and Consistency
Whether you’re at the range or in a high-stress situation, you need ammunition you can trust. Magtech’s stringent quality control measures ensure that every round of 357 Magnum 158 Grain SJHP delivers consistent performance. With a muzzle velocity of 1,235 fps and 535 ft-lbs of energy, this round offers reliable accuracy, making it a top choice for both recreational shooting and competition.
The brass casing and Boxer primer are engineered to provide reliable ignition and consistent cycling in a variety of firearms. The reloadable brass cases are another benefit for cost-conscious shooters, allowing you to reuse your brass for reloading purposes.

I have not done a sandbag …
I have not done a sandbag accuracy test of this ammo, but informal shooting suggest good accuracy. Using a six inch S&W six shots over my chronograph averaged 1591 fps with an extreme spread of 3 fps and a standard deviation of zero. Very consistent ammo!

Hot Load
This is a hot load, the guys next to me at the indoor range thought I was shooting a rifle, big muzzle flash, very load and very accurate out of my Ruger Match Champion, I like this ammo!

My choice for my Henry Golden Boy
This 357 JHP round is dead on everytime. It’s my go-to choice for my Henry Golden boy.

Impressed!
I mounted a chrono on my Henry Big Boy (20″ barrel) today and measured about 1725 fps with this ammo. That is moving along for a 158g. loading. However, the best part was the accuracy. Very tight grouping. Best of the four different types of ammo I tested today. I know that’s a small sample of what is available, but it outperformed some much more expensive ammo. Putting this on my wish list.
