This ammo feeds well in my PT845 and seems to hit at the same point of aim as the FMJ that I shoot. I did an expansion test using water jugs and a blanket back stop and it expanded well. The large cavity in the hollow point might get plugged, so I need to test it with a cover garment to see if it would be good winter ammo for home defense.

this is low-cost hollow point ammunition. The bad: every shot fired out of a Glock 41 with 5.3 inch barrel failed to expand in wetpack (soaked paper with a 5/8″ sheet of southern pine plywood placed about one inch from the front to simulate bone/cartilage). This bullet appears to be the old Federal Hi-Shok design, which Federal later modified to create their Hydrashok, so this bullet design may be around four decades old now. For general practice, this is quite a bit more expensive than FMJ, and for defense I would recommend saving just a little more for Sig Sauer V-Crown or Hornady Critical Defense, but if you absolutely cannot afford anything better and need it right now, then this is better than FMJ when your life depends on it.
