Out of all the loads I’ve tested in my Glock 19 and My Steyr M9, this has proved to be the most consistently accurate. I have never had a jam using this ammunition in either of these pistols. This is also a good defense round if you want a slow, heavy and subsonic projectile. A very nice product.

Good price, accurate and feeds reliably in a Hi Power. In a Walther P1 it would not feed. Almost every round jammed. To be fair, the Walther P1 was designed to use ball ammo but the pricey Federal 135gr Hydra Shoks work fine in it and I decided to give this Winchester ammo a try because of its heavier weight, which I like. Will I buy this ammo again? Sure, but not for use in a Walther P1.

My Home Defense Choice
I purchased this ammo for cat defense while deer and coyote hunting. I read the reports of low expansion and figured it would give me the deeper penetration I was looking for against cats. I did some ballistic testing on a buck muley. Entrance was on the right side just behind the lower jaw. Bullet went between the base of the skull and first vertebra. Core and jacket had seperated and both were resting against the offside, lower jaw. Core was intact and had expanded to 0.77″ at its widest and 0.44″ at its narrowest points. I will be looking for another cartridge for cats but will be stocking up on these for two-legged critters.

The BEST!!! 9mm Budget self defense JHP ammo on the Market
Phenomenal performance especially for a 147 grain Subsonic “HEAVYWEIGHT HANK” Load. Test using my M&P shield 9mm with 3.1″ barrel Bullet impact velocity at 15 feet (952 FPS) only 38 FPS under rated box velocity. Test subject three 1gallon jugs filled with thick soft ballistic gelatin mixture the first jug heavily clothed with (2layers thick cotton (2layers heavy denim) with a 1/4″ of solid plywood placed in between the second and third jug to represent hard bones inside the thoracic cavity such as upper ribs, sternum, and thorax. Bullet split open the first jug with a decent amount of rip and disruption. Stuck the second jug with a noticeable jagged entry which shows instant expansion. The projectile exited out the second jug and struck the 1/4″ of solid plywood to represent hard bones and deeply lodged inside with enough energy that it cracked open the backside of solid plywood when it stopped. So penetration was TERRIFIC!!! around 15″ on average and full expansion was very good around .58 caliber on average. Which shows how marvelous even the cheap obsolete 1980s Winchester ammo is .Because usually in a short barrel at slow subsonic velocities it’s hard to get most 147 grain loads to open up and reliably expand. But this WhiteBox JHP is designed with an ultra thin copper jacket profile with deep skives and a softer than average lead core for immediate, instant, explosive expansion and energy transfer upon impact. Very surprisingly for a Heavyweight Hank 147 Grain load the projectile fully expanded with a very jagged copper Jacket that peeled almost all the way back to the bottom base of the projectile. With a good amount of disruption and pretty darn decent wound channel damage. This would be the perfect load for EDC, Personal/Home defense
